The Date
Prologue: This poem needs no description in itself as it narrates the day perfectly as it goes. For people in love, you understand the importance of meeting your loved one, your partner, your soulmate etc., and it gets intense, once a decent amount of time has passed without seeing each other. Let the cradle of love be in your heart and cupid be with you as you start.
It feels like a movie, the day with you
There was a lot of traffic, but I saw through
A damsel in distress, that's what I would call
It's my fault, I know, I made you stall.
Was prepared maybe, for what came along
The silent treatment, it felt like a song
Then you calmed down and things fell into place
You let me in, to your personal space.
You held my hand, it was the first time
I rhyme my poems, I saw my life rhyme
We walked a good few miles, my legs remember
But believe me, I swear, it was my best December.
Seven billion people, seven billion minds
Seven billion hearts and look what my heart finds
Who would have thought in the city of joy
I would win my Helen in the battle of Troy.
